R&D Strategy, Research Priorities and Fields
Projected in 2018 and documented by the Ministry of Industry and Technology in 2019, the R&D Center of Doğu Pres classifies its R&D strategies under 7 main categories. The primary objectives and research fields of the R&D Center are classified under three main categories.
Computer Assisted Design (CAD) Works
We use Solidworks software in the design phases of the R&D development projects, in which the main goal is to develop products, production processes, machinery, and equipment (i.e. metal cutting sets and molds, machinery automation components, etc.), for 3D modeling works. As for 2D part drawing, we use AUTODESK INVENTOR software.
Design and Process Verification Works with Numerical Analyses
To perform finite element analysis in the design verification phases of the R&D projects we use Ansys Mechanical software. On the other hand, we perform computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analyses based on the finite volume method by using Ansys Fluent software to simulate the processes involving fluid dynamics with various (compressible, non-compressible, laminar, turbulent, heat-transmissive, free surface, etc.) thermal and other characteristics.
We use Simufact software to verify production processes such as plate metal forming, volume shaping, forging, and precision cutting, thermal processes with finite element analysis and to perform numerical analyses in order to optimize the mold design and process parameters in accordance with the material characteristics.
Collaborations with Universities
Within the scope of the R&D projects, we prioritize establishing effective and permanent collaborations with universities. In this context, we have concluded a series of collaboration agreements with the members of Bursa Technical University, Bursa Uludağ University, and Sabancı University.The goal is to expand this network to include the members of other universities.
Patents
According to the Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Management Procedure, which is based on the applicable legislation, the R&D Center oversees the necessary procedures to ensure registration of the inventions created as an output of the R&D projects. In addition to the owners of the inventions, the personnel working within the registration processes are compensated for under the provisions of the company’s Recognition and Appreciation Instructions.
Scientific Releases
One of the R&D Center’s objectives is to generate scientific publications from ongoing R&D projects. R&D staff listed as authors in these publications are rewarded in accordance with the company’s Recognition and Appreciation Policy. The resulting publications are listed below.
